Obituary

Arnold John “AJ” Quayle, 58, Mercersburg, PA died September 24, 2020 at Doey’s House, Hagerstown, MD.
Born July 12, 1962 in Denver, CO, he was a son of Gerald R. Quayle, Greencastle, PA and the late Deanna M. (Brayton) Quayle
AJ was a graduate of Hudson High School, Hudson, Iowa. He was a scholarship wrestler at Sioux Empire College, Hawarden, Iowa, where he earned a Liberal Arts degree.
AJ worked in construction for a number of commercial construction companies. He was a building superintendent for Finishes Inc., Mt. Airy, MD for 17 years, and Cooper Building, Frederick, MD for 7 years.
He enjoyed working around his home, swimming and the beach, and loved his family and his dog.
AJ was a member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren and Williamsport Red Men Lodge 84, Williamsport, MD.
In addition to his father, AJ is survived by his wife, Brenda Lee (McKnight) Quayle, whom he married July 17, 1998, three children, Rodney Grenke and his wife, Abby Salawage, LeAnn and husband Todd Moore, and Justin Grenke, four grandchildren, one great grandson, and three siblings, Sue Caddy, Duane Quayle, and Andrew Quayle. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Quayle.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, October 1, 2020, at Greencastle Church of the Brethren, 36 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, with Pastor Jesse Mills officiating. Burial will be at Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
