Obituary

Benjamin L. Martin, 79, of Mercersburg, PA died August 2, 2020 in Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
Born March 7, 1941, in Maugansville, MD he was a son of the late Eston D. and Elizabeth B. (Martin) Martin.
Ben was a 1959 graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School. He was employed by H. R. Cordell & Sons, Mercersburg, for over 40 years. Ben was later employed at Mercersburg Builders Supply Co. for 9 years.
Ben was a member of Mercersburg Mennonite Church since 1961, where he had served as a Trustee, Song Leader, and Sunday School and Bible School teacher. For 20 years he was a member of King’s Troubadours Chorus. He was a member of MMP & W Fire Company Fire Police for many years. He enjoyed yard work.
Surviving are his wife Janet M. (Horst) Martin, whom he married Sept 3, 1961, a son, Larry E. & wife Diane L. Martin and a daughter Linda A. & husband Paul L. Boyer both of Greencastle, PA. Three grandchildren, Erin Martin, Sean Martin, and Alec Boyer. Two sisters, Mary L. Martin, Greencastle, and Shirley & husband Clair Hege of Stockbridge, GA.
A private graveside service at Mercersburg Mennonite Church Cemetery, with Pastor David Possinger officiating, will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to MMP & W Fire Company, 132 N. Main Street, Mercersburg, PA 17236.
Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg.
