Obituary

David F. Burall, 77, of Mercersburg, PA died October 5, 2020 in the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Born May 5, 1943 in Cove Gap, PA he was a son of the late Raymond and Anna (Gerhold) Burall.
David was a lifelong resident of Mercersburg. As a young man he worked at the former G. C. Murphy Store in Mercersburg. He worked 33 years for PennDOT, retiring in 2005. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed his flower garden and his cats.
David was a member of American Legion #Post 517, Mercersburg.
Surviving family include his wife of 35 years, Ruth E. (Hawbaker) Burall. Two daughters, Jeannie Zaleski, Center Point, WV and Roseann L. Ayotte of Mannington, WV. Two sons, Terry L. Lake, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA and Michael D. Lake of Chambersburg. Six grandchildren, one great grandchild, a sister, Ruby Oberholzer of Greencastle, PA, a half-sister, Cheryl Egan of Illinois, and a number of nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Pine.
A funeral service will be held October 12, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM in Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, with Pastor Floyd E. Myers officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Viewing one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
Masks are required.
