Evelyn O. Keefer, 91, of McConnellsburg, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Fulton County Medical Center.
Born March 9, 1928 in Windsor, England, she was a daughter of the late Harold Rueben John and Elizabeth Norris Richardson.
Evelyn was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former choir member and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the American Legion #517 Auxillary and worked for the former C&P Phone Company of Mercersburg, the Dress Factory, Tuscarora School District Cafeteria, and Sagner’s of McConnellsburg.
Evelyn is survived by her three sons, David Earl Keefer, Wayne Norris Keefer, and William Woodrow Keefer, all of McConnellsburg. She is survived by 5 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow E. Keefer (1985), a sister, Jennifer Hollenshead, and a stepfather Edward Forbes.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, at the Little Cove United Methodist Church, Mercersburg with Reverend Warren Heintzelman officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Little Cove Methodist Church the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
