Larry J. Clopper, 72, of Mercersburg, went to be with his Lord and savior on December 3, 2018.
Born November 5, 1946 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Joseph Franklin and Helen Hornbaker Clopper.
Larry graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1967 and married Mary Arnel Clopper on January 10, 1969. Larry enjoyed being with his family, hunting, loved animals, and taking trips to the ocean. He retired from Valley Quarries after 37 years. He was a member of Mercersburg First Church of God, and the Freemasonry Society.
Larry is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary L. Clopper, and his two children, Kamie Swisher and her fiancé Mark, and a son Matthew (Diane) Clopper. Larry is survived by grandchildren: Rainee Swisher, fiancé Colby and daughter Briella, Justeen Swisher, David Clopper, and Evan Clopper. He is also survived by a sister Judy Bivens and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 7 PM on Thursday evening December 6, 2018 at the Mercersburg First Church of God with Pastor John Cook officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6 – 7 PM at the church. A private burial will take place on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mercersburg First Church of God 107 S. Park Ave. Mercersburg, PA 17236.

My sincere condolenences to Mary and the family. I have many fond memories of Larry. He was a terrific kind loving person that will be missed by many. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. We had many happy times together, didn't we Mary.
