Obituary

Margaret “Margy” L. Frisby, 87, formerly of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania passed away on August 8th, 2020 at her home in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Margy was the daughter of the late Frederick M. and Lillian Stoner of Mercersburg, and was born January 9th, 1933 in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.

Margy was a graduate of Mercersburg High School in 1950. She worked for a short time in the Harrisburg area before marrying and becoming an “Air Force” wife. Margy became a homemaker and loving mother, enduring the separations and deployments of military life while raising her children on bases in the east coast and in Europe. Margy was a kind and generous person who had many friends. Margy enjoyed traveling and thoroughly enjoyed the many trips the she made to Las Vegas and Atlantic City “to see the bright lights and play the penny and nickel slots” with hopes of winning the big jackpot. Margy also loved crossword puzzles, reading, and was well spoken on many subjects.

Margy is preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” Frisby, her parents, and her brothers Allen, Lee, Donnie, Richard, William, David, and Carroll.

She is survived by her children William “PeeWee” Jr and wife Eileen Frisby of Maine, Steve and wife Karen of Hagerstown, Ronald and companion Cindy of Hagerstown, Caryn and companion Mark of Chambersburg, Michael and companion Stephanie of Chambersburg, PA. She is survived by her siblings, Maryann Bell, Lurena Branche, and James Stoner. Margy is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Zion Union Cemetery in Mercersburg, PA on August 15th, 2020 at 1:00 PM. The family requests that all attendees of the graveside service please wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
