Obituary

Richard A. Beideman, 74, of Greencastle, died January 4, 2019 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been in failing health since May 2018.
Born May 10, 1944 at Coatesville, PA he was a son of the late Harry and Catherine Shepard Beideman.
Richard was a graduate of S. Scott Harris High School, Coatesville. He was a former orderly at Chambersburg Hospital and later was a private duty care provider for two years. He also had worked at Grove Manufacturing, Lehman’s Egg Service and Chambersburg YMCA.
Richard was a member of Welsh Run Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed music, reading, gardening, and volunteering at Camp Joy El.
Surviving family include his wife Karen L. (Wingert) Beideman, whom he married May 11, 1968. A daughter, Miriam A. (David) Ankerbrand, and a granddaughter, Katie E. Ankerbrand all of Greencastle. A sister, Carol A. Martin, Ephrate, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Beideman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, with Pastor Nathan West and Dr. W. David Kent officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery, Lemasters.
Viewing 7 to 9 PM Wednesday and 1 to 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Franklin County, LLC., 2257 McDowell Road, St. Thomas, PA 17252.
