Obituary

Russell Leroy Hose, 101, formerly of Mercersburg, died January 29, 2019 at Providence Place, Chambersburg,
Born December 12, 1917, at Williamsport, MD, he was a son of the late Russell D. and Eva Shank Hose.
Mr. Hose worked for 28 years at the former Mercersburg Tannery. He was last employed at Grove Worldwide for eight years.
He had been an avid hunter and fisherman. Russell loved going to church and he enjoyed singing to other residents at Providence Place.
Mr. Hose was a life member of Mercersburg Sportsman’s Association and attended Mt. Tabor Brethren In Christ Church, Mercersburg, and Locust Level Full Gospel Church, Greencastle.
Surviving family include a son, Father Samuel Hose, Lakeway, TX, eight grandchildren, Howard (Nancy) Clever, Dan (Sandy) Clever, Cletus (Sharon) Clever, Stephen (Karen) Clever, Susan (David) Myers, all of York, PA, Trina (Terry) Ebersole, Greencastle, PA, Lori (Tim) Wells and Randall (Shelia) Lowans both of North Carolina. Fifteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Ott Lowans Hose, daughter, Reva J. Hose Clever Frey, granddaughter, Cindy Reeder, step son, Ronald Lowans, and three siblings, Arthur Hose, Mary Harrell, and Sarah Householder.
Funeral service 11:00 AM Friday February 1, 2019 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, with Pastor Henry Barthalow officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Viewing one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Locust Level Full Gospel Church, Box 325, Greencastle, PA 17225.

Family and friends of Russell Hose;
