Obituary

Russell E. Kaiser, Jr., 76, of Mercersburg, lost his two-year fight with cancer, December 11, 2018. Russell passed away at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born September 19, 1942 at Mercersburg, he was a son of the late Russell E. Sr., and Gladys Starliper Kaiser.
Russell was a 1960 graduate of James Buchanan High School. He had a 48-year career with Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, and retired in 2007 as vice-president of engineering. Russ enjoyed hunting, hunting mushrooms, and butchering.
Member of Moose Lodge 1790 and American Legion Post 517 both of Mercersburg.
Surviving family include his wife, Vera M. Hege Kaiser, whom he married in 1961. Two sons, William J. Kaiser and Darryle E. (Leanne) Kaiser both of Mercersburg, two daughters, Tammy D. Campbell of Ft. Loudon, and Amy Sue (Bryant) Hornbaker of Mercersburg. Ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three siblings, Donald and Ronnie Kaiser both of Mercersburg, and Sandy Myers of Harrisonville.
Russell was preceded in death by a son, Steven Kaiser and siblings Dorcas Robinson and Clifford Kaiser.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM December 15, 2018 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg with Pastors Floyd E. Myers and Norman C. Hege officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Viewing 6 to 8 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
